Clingman Avenue Lofts

Constructed 2008

clingman-lofts

The new Clingman Avenue Lofts were recently constructed by Mountain Housing Opportunities.  They bridge the urban fabric of downtown with the industrial area of the River Arts District.  There are 21 units comprising both 1 & 2 bedrooms.  All have nine foot ceilings, balconies, 1 parking space, basement storage and are certified by Energy Star and NC Healthy Built.  The well -sealed construction guarantees low energy bills combined with healthy air exchange.

There are several low-income units available through MHO and other units available to the general public through Scott Carter at the Real Estate Center.  Prices range from $120,000 to $240,000.

  1. I really like the look of these lofts – however, I cannot imagine living on the street – I mean, literally, on the street – which is what these are.
Does low-income and moderate cost (120 – 240,000) is moderate to high for most of Asheville – mean – you have to be on the street?

      Hi Nan,

Thanks for asking. The normal price on these are more from $150 to $250,000. However, some are being sold through Mountain Housing where you can get a $40,000 credit if you qualify.

I did sell a house last year for $125,000. It was not on the street, but was 1/2 block from the highway. Quite noisy. There is a small house for sale I know in Woodfin just North of Asheville for $135,000 on one acre in the woods that has a seperate garage workshop. There are things out there. Especially now.

      Best,
      Troy

  2. I would like to know if you have any rentals in the Clingman Lofts and the monthly rent amount. Thank You
