a CALL TO ACTION from the Asheville Design Center
NCDOT recently released their latest version of the I-26 Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for public review and comment. As usual, they have given us very little time to review and react to their voluminous document and complicated maps before scheduling a public hearing for comments.
The public meeting is to be held:
NCDOT I-26 Public Hearing
Monday Nov 16, 2015 at the Renaissance Hotel Grand Ballroom
Pre-Hearing Open House 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm
Formal Hearing 7:00 pm
We are asking for volunteers to represent ADC at each of the NCDOT maps, with the objective of helping explain the alternative designs to the attending public. We also need volunteers that are willing to speak at the public hearing. If you are interested in helping, we have scheduled a meeting to inform volunteers and discuss talking points prior to the event.
The information meeting will be:
ADC Information Meeting
Saturday November 14th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the ADC Office
20 Battery Park Ave #515a, (Fifth Floor) Asheville, NC 28801
If you cannot serve as a Volunteer, please plan to attend the event and let you voice be heard….. The State appears to be fast tracking the decision on the connector and they seem to be focused on Creating a road through Asheville rather than a road for Asheville.
