1953 Frank Lloyd Wright interview by Mike Wallace | I scoured the internet for something of interest to watch last night. It is not always very fruitful, but this time I found something “fantastic” — at least from my viewpoint. If you’ve never seen this before I’m happy to share this treasure with you today. His belief in individualism and his views on the lack of intellectualism and “mobocracy” hit home today. I won’t say more, but simply encourage you to spend 50 minutes to watch this interview with a true visionary who is, obviously, very comfortable in his own skin. Enjoy the segment here . Cheers!

For all the years we’ve been in the business and watching cool properties we get to see a lot of diamonds in the rough. This one especially tugged at our hearts when we saw the 1965 vintage, mid-century home in North Asheville in its original and untouched condition. The home sits in the Kimberley Woods neighborhood — one of the many well located, mid-century and ranch home neighborhoods we have here in Asheville. Driving through last week we recently saw the updates and had to share. What do YOU think?
It is exciting for us to see more women take center stage in all aspects of life. Here is a great overview of some of the groundbreaking women in Architecture from our Architizer news feed. Please enjoy and have a great Thursday!
As real estate agents with a visual sense we are always being asked about what to do in preparing a home for sale. While we do love light and neutral paint choices we are, also, big fans of grays and well curated pops of color for accenting key walls. The below recent article on houzz seems to capture a clean aesthetic while giving it some personality. Check it out. Cheers!

Given our beautiful and temperate environment here in Asheville we are always looking for ways to create more outdoor living to maximize our homes and living experience. This home came across one of our design feeds showcasing one way to capture indoor and outdoor spaces under one iconic roof. Enjoy!
Thanks Margie for sending us this great illustration. It does depict many of the things we have been telling clients for a few years now regarding size, plan, openness and, of course, modern styling. Cheers!
article from houzz | “At the end of a dirt road through the woods, an empty lot with Atlantic Ocean views provided the ideal spot for a couple to build their dream home. Avid collectors of vintage Danish furniture, these empty-nesters desired a new midcentury-inspired house to feature their furniture collection and take advantage of the views.” While not in Asheville this home would sit well in any natural setting with a view blurring the lines between inside and outside. For further inspiration take the rest of the tour here. Cheers!
Good Morning Folks! In the spirit of “Less is More” we read this great little reminder article on minimizing your life for more carefree living. Check out the helpful article from houzz ~ here. We wish you the best start to an amazing 2018. Cheers!
Is it us or is everyone talking about Airbnb in the area? Architectural Digest recently published this article on the most beautiful examples in every state. The one chosen for North Carolina is, of course, right here in Asheville belonging to our friends Carla and John and has been on our Modern Home Tour in recent years. The home was first featured here while under construction. It was then published in WNC Magazine, here, when completed. Cheers to them and enjoy!
