Sunday Morning Modern

We had Earth Day this week so I thought it only appropriate to reflect on some modern design that was site and earth sensitive. {click on links} Whether they are directly influenced by the nature around them or live lightly on our earth and resources take some time to be inspired by some of these designs. Between my desire for a small abode and/or creating unique AirBnB destinations it is a border line obsession. I’ve been looking at everything from homes in small new silos, 20′ container homes to creating something out of industrial garage kits. Last, there is that desire to build something unique from the ground up. Thus, I found this little Dwell article on a design competition for hotel cabins that I’ll share here.large

A Regionally Inspired Parking Garage

I came across this little story on NPR and just wanted to share it as inspiration from the Northwest. Modern “Post Parade” Mixer | Today

Hudson StIt may be the end of the Parade of Homes, but it is just the beginning for one happy new homeowner thanks to the vision and stewardship of Earthtone Builders.
